As promised

I am returning to the blogosphere.I promised a report on Wakarusa Music Festival and I do occasionaly keep my promises. Wakawaka was my 1st adventure into the the world of woodstockism 50 years after the rest of the world. I saw new things learned new things and exhausted my self . I was there as a sort of law enforcement , SAR liaison.I was soon given new duties I became 50% of the fire suppression unit and a roving ambassador of true stories. My greatest quote may well become the official WAOB motto "I am not stupid,I have seen stupid and it aint me" or the by now recognised "I swear this is a true story."
I enjoyed the time with a lot of LEO,EMS,SAR type folks ,didn't hear much music and didn't get dehydrated. I also did my first SAR mission with live theme music-We hit the woods at 1 AM and came out with the victims around 5:30 AM. The public safety aspect of the event was well planned and well executed.
There were the usual ( I am told ) drug related medical cases and a large number of heat related calls. There was an incident with a bear which I am told is not the norm but as I stated this was my first FESTIVAL ,for all I know they all have bears running around.
I really don't know what I expected but it wasn't what I got. What I got was probably the most intense weekend of training ever.I observed ICS in action and watched masters at work. Fred thanks for having me and will I be back? Oh yeah and bringing some others.
